This is a special car. It belonged to its first owner for 17 years. Sadly he died and the car went to California where it was successful in concours beating Dean Martins Rolls at one point. It came back to uk 20 years ago and since then it has won its class twice at the Rolls Royce National Rally and has won best of show at the Royal Automobile Clubs annual concours allowing it the honour of being exhibited in the rotunda at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London. -

My vehicle would have been one of the first Volvo 122S cars imported into the UK. It was registered on 8th April 1959 and is currently the oldest 122S on British roads. I purchased the car in 1971 as a 'basket case' when the seller put 'Sold as scrap' on the receipt. I have totally renovated this car in the 52 yrs I have owned it and have won awards at local shows. It is not totally standard as I have fitted an 1800cc engine, (from1962 car), in place of the 1600cc original unit and have wood panelled the interior. The front panel is also from a 1962 car and it is now a single colour rather than the 2 tone original. -
