It takes a lot of effort to build a show of our size in a short span of time. Setting up usually starts on Thursday, but most of the work is done on the Friday before the show.
We are looking for people that can help on the Friday (approx 9:00 – 18:00h) and Saturday (from 7am – 9am and then from 17:00 onward) to build the show ground and take it down again.
We always aim to clear the Capel recreation ground on the Saturday to a state where you can hardly see that there was a big party.
Tasks for the building/breakdown team (among others)
– Marking out the bays where the classic cars park
– Putting up gazebo’s and tents
– raising the checkered show arch
– putting out signs throughout the show ground and the public car park across the road
– getting the crowd-control barriers in place along The Street and in the Village hall car park
– putting information signs up in the village
– putting parking restriction cones out in the village
It’s hard work but rewarding when you know that you have helped to make the show a success and has raised thousands of pounds for local good causes.

We don’t pay but you will of course get free access to the show.
